Sarah Pearl Jones Ms Lpc Atr’s Expertise I am seeking to expand my involvement within the art therapy, mental health, and human service fields. As of April 2020 I have been supporting individuals through virtual art therapy support groups and individual sessions. My private practice, The Hummingbird Place, LLC, was created during this Covid-19 crisis in order to alleviate stress and anxiety by providing artistic connection and creative healing. My graduate art therapy research and community practice was inspired by the small community of Mateare, Nicaragua and the Non-governmental Organization, Cantera. Through mural making, after school dance classes, and activities geared towards combining art with recycled materials, the youth in this community help promote resiliency and lessen violence. The positive creative outlets that the Cantera Organization offers, helped influence my mindset on the power of creative community action.
